When a session is online, the join link is included in the booking confirmation and in both session reminders. For in-person sessions it is left out, so no one receives a link they don’t need. Ten minutes before the session, an alert appears on every page with a Join button.

You are not locked into the built-in room. Choose Google Meet, or paste your own link (Zoom, for example), and Wholistic sends that link in the same confirmation and reminder emails.

Care in Wholistic means removing whatever stands between you and the client. An online session shouldn’t start with a download, a password or a lost link. The room opens from the reminder the client already has, you admit them when you are ready, and the session is tied to the same file as every in-person one.

Is Wholistic telehealth software for therapists, or a general video tool?

It is telehealth software for therapists. The video room is part of your practice software, so each online session is tied to a booking, a client file, a note and an invoice. It is not a separate telehealth software platform you have to connect yourself.

Is it a Zoom alternative for psychologists, and what about POPIA?

Yes, the built-in room can replace Zoom for client sessions, and you can still use Zoom or Google Meet if you prefer. No video tool makes a practice POPIA compliant on its own. That depends on how you handle client information across your practice, so cover online sessions in your consent form and take your own advice on POPIA.

Does my client need to install anything?

No. They open the link in their browser. There is no account to create and nothing to download.

Can I offer both online and in-person sessions?

Yes. Each session is marked as online or in person, at a chosen address. Only online sessions include a join link in the client’s emails.

Is teletherapy in South Africa something clients can book for themselves?

Yes. If you offer online sessions on your booking page, a client can choose one when they book, and the join link reaches them automatically.
